General English for Adults Route C: Examination

Students: Adults (17 & over)

Course Length: FCE: 4 or 10 weeks
CAE: 4, 9 or 10 weeks
BEC Vantage: 4 weeks

Tuition: 30 lessons / 22½ hours per week including 20 lessons on the General English course and 10 lessons in an exam focus group

Levels: KET, PET, FCE, CAE, BEC Vantage

Course Details

Route C (Examination Courses) include training for internationally-recognised examinations.

Key English Test (KET), Preliminary English Test (PET)

Long term students on General English Courses are encouraged to take KET and/or PET exams. Exam preparation is timetabled but there is a supplementary charge of £60 to cover all KET/ PET examination fees. Test dates are on:

• Saturday 20 March
• Saturday 5 June
• Friday 3 December

IELTS and TOEIC Preparation

Students on the University Preparation Route (Route D) are normally prepared to take IELTS in May and December (and September, subject to demand). Students can also enter for IELTS independently at other times of the year. IELTS examinations take place at Liverpool University.

TOEIC can be taken at English in Chester on six Saturdays each year.

Publlic Holidays

Please note, on our courses there will be no lessons on public holidays in 2010: Friday 2 April, Monday 5 April, Monday 3 May, Monday 31 May and Monday 30 August.
