Through guided observations, structured drawing exercises and discussion of selected artworks you will develop an enhanced understanding of proportion and draw with improved accuracy. You will learn to use comparative measuring techniques and explore the role Proportion plays in Still-life and figure studies.
You will become familiar with the various ways selected representational artists have used proportion in composition.

About this course

Improve understanding and use of proportion.
Observe and draw using comparative measuring skills
Understand the role proportion plays in composition and balance
Apply knowledge of proportion to the still-life and human figure
Develop knowledge of the various roles proportion plays in the work of selected artists
Relate proportion to scale, shape, form and perspective.

All materials are provided
A sketchbook is useful.
