About the Course
This two-year course is timetabled for one Tuesday afternoon and evening
(2pm â€" 8pm) during normal term time. You need to complete 10 HND/HNC units
(6 core and 4 optional) covering a range of subject areas.
Core units include areas such as:
* Computer Applications in Art and Design
* Historical and contextual referencing
* Professional practice
* Ideas generation
* Critical study and ideas in context
Optional units include areas such as:
* Image manipulation applications
* Typographic skills
* Multimedia Design
* Working to a Professional design brief
You will be taught using industry standard software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Dreamweaver.
Course Aims

* Help you develop the knowledge and skills needed by successful designers operating in a modern commercial graphics environment.
* Provide interesting and challenging studies of direct relevance to your current employment role or current interest.

The course is continuously assessed. The emphasis is on project work and case studies.

A Fee: £1285.00, B Fee: £ 1285.00, C Fee: £1265.00
Are there any other costs?
The tuition fee for the course is provisionally set at £613 per year, which includes the cost of materials. Exam fees are to be paid in addition to the course fee, as well as a registration fee with the awarding body which is approximately £130. There is also a College deposit of £30 (refundable at the end of the course).
What facilities can be used on this course?
You will use industry standard software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress and Dreamweaver.
What next?
With further study you could convert your qualification to an HND or you may wish to pursue further professional qualifications along specialist routes. The College has an established direct link with Southampton Institute that provides our students with a progression route to various higher level and professional courses.
