Once qualified, holders of this First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. This course can be adapted to suit a particular audience. The course is run over 3 days and includes both theory and practical sessions.

Course programme
Upon successful completion of this three day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary. It is strongly recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher.
We are happy to deliver these courses ‘on site’ or at your premises or at a local venue of your choice. Who should attend? This course is designed for people who want to receive our most thorough first aid training and is especially suited for nominated workplace first aiders looking to gain comprehensive, certified HSE approval. The content of the course will cover how to deal with the following: • Accidents and illness
• Using a first aid kit
• Simple record keeping
• Treatment of an unconscious casualty
• Heart attacks
• Resuscitation
• Shock
• Choking
• Bleeding
• Burns and scalds
• Poisoning
• Fractures
• Seizures
• Asthma
• Severe allergic reaction
• Eye injuries
• Low blood sugar
• Fainting. Course duration: Three days. After completing a final assessment successful candidates receive an HABC approved certificate valid for three years. This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. Some people may benefit from a more personal touch. Those we regularly train include people with disabilities, sports groups, youth and schools groups.
