Aim The Diploma in Hair and Beauty Studies will introduce you to the huge range of opportunities that exist within this sector and will allow you to experience the reality of working as a hairdresser, barber, beauty/spa therapist or nail technician. It will give you an opportunity to work in an increasingly fashion conscious industry and will open doors to an exciting world. The TV and film industry increasingly needs people who are good with people, enthusiastic, reliable and have plenty of stamina. You could find yourself running your own business, working in a spa, a holiday resort or even on board a plane.

· Basic hand and nail care
· Personal appearance, style and wellbeing.

Higher Level
· Safe and healthy working practices
· The world of hair and beauty
· The science of hair and beauty
· The art of communication and client care
· History of hair and beauty in society
· Introduction to promotion and selling by professional recommendation
· Salon systems
· Explore skincare and makeup
· Explore hand care and nail art.

Advanced Level
· Hair and beauty business location and design
· Event management
· Hair and beauty products from concept to consumer
· Understanding the hair and beauty management role
· Explore media and image within hair and beauty
· Explore the world of spas
· Enterprise and entrepreneurship
· Cosmetic science.

In addition, you will also have to undertake additional or specialist learning to complement the above generic and principal learning content. There will also be a project and work experience.
