Hairdressing
The full NVQ Level 2 qualification is made up of the seven mandatory
units plus two optional units. These units include:

Unit G1:
Ensure health & safety

Unit G5: Give clients a positive impression

Unit G7: Advise and consult with your clients

Unit H9: Shampoo and condition hair

Unit H6: Cut hair using basic techniques

Unit H10: Style, dress & finish hair using basic techniques

Unit H13: Change hair colour using basic techniques

Unit H12: Perm & neutralise hair using basic techniques

Unit G4: Fulfil salon reception dutiesYou will be assessed continuously throughout the year. Practical assessments will be completed to prove competence. Natural progression to Hairdressing NVQ Level 3

Associated Costs
A uniform is required - cost approx £26.50 and a basic tool kit (scissors, combs & brushes)- cost approx £57.00Financial support may be available to eligible students via the college's financial contingency fund.This qualification enables students to enter into the hairdressing industry with basic hairdressing skills which need to be developed with experience.Students can progress to V1 Assessor Award, after five years experience in industry, which allows the assessment of students working towards Hairdressing NVQs.

Pass Rate: 40% of learners achieved the Full Award.
Highlights: The remaining students are progressing towards the full award, having achieved relevant units to date.
