Hand-embroidered garments command the highest prices because there is a recognition not only of the time required to create each piece but also because of the unique needle skills of the embroider who has refined their craft over years.

Topics covered:
- Using the Crochet de Lunéville
- Working on a tambour frame with a transparent silk organza
- Chain stitch (in all directions) using special cotton thread
- Embellishing with paillettes, tubes and beads
- Using gold thread and metallic cord
- Create vermicelli stitches with gold thread, beads and paillettes in the shape of a beautiful heart inspired by Balenciaga’s collection
Materials
All materials are provided. Throughout the course you will work with professional tools - with a crochet du Lunéville (hook) and a tambour frame (which will be provided by the college and are yours to keep at the end of the course)
Course outcomes
By the end of the course you will have a variety of different stitches on a heart that can be used in your portfolio.
Course level
This course is suitable for students new to embroidery or those who have done some in the past and wish to develop their practice.
