Who is the course for?
The course is aimed learners who have experience in Health and Social Care and hold a level 2 (not always necessary depending on job role) Gaining this qualification would offer you the opportunity to progress into Management in your chosen setting, onto higher education or into specialist areas within the Health and Social Care sector.

How will I be assessed?
The above modules will be assessed practically and through written assessments. This is a practical course where learners will provide evidence through case studies, tasks, professional discussions and Q & A’s along with observations done with your assessor.
Which award will I achieve?
Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 Employment Rights and Responsibilities and Functional Skills at Level 2 in English and Maths.
What are the entry requirements?
Candidates should have a strong interest in the area of health or social care. They will need to be dedicated and committed to their study and be responsible for their own learning. It will be necessary to attend an interview with the Apprenticeships team and be asked to complete basic skills assessments in English and Mathematics. GCSE grades A-C in Maths and English desirable but must be willing to achieve Level 2 in functional skills if they do not have the grades.
What next?
Possible progression into a Management role. Career pathways may include progression within specialist roles such as senior care worker, support or outreach worker. Higher education opportunities may include the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care at Colchester Institute.
Attendance
All learning will take place in the work place with regular visits from your assessor. If you do not have Maths and English grades you would need to attend Functional Skills classes at times to be arranged.

- Skilled and knowledgeable staff in placement.
- Modern equipment and current practices.

Considering an apprenticeship?
Many young people look to an apprenticeship to gain valuable skills directly in the workplace.
You can apply for both an apprenticeship, and a full-time course as your back up,
but note that you will need to do some research to find an employer willing to take you on as an apprentice
if you do not already have one.

ready to complete your apprenticeship with.
