3. Entry requirements Applicants must have a genuine interest in working with people and have a caring personality. They must be highly motivated and be able to show a commitment to the caring profession. Students must have achieved four GCSEs at grade D or above including English Language or Mathematics or other related Level 1 or 2 qualifications may be considered. Entry to the course is also subject to a successful interview. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method The work is internally and externally assessed. Internal assessment is carried out via assignment based units which will be marked by individual unit lecturers. External assessment is undertaken by completion of two examined units, these units are assessed by the awarding body. All units are graded to pass, merit or distinction depending on quality and criteria achieved. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own work. Their work needs to be kept in a portfolio and all deadlines met.
