About this course
There are no formal qualifications required for entry, but potential students need to show commitment to the work area and have satisfactory references. An opportunity for two weeks of work placement should be possible.

What will I study?
Aspects of study include health and the environment and looking after children. You will also develop your Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT.
Duration:
One year - four days per week.
Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
There will be an opportunity for a two week work experience during the course, probably after Christmas. You will also have opportunity to experience the Reality Baby care for one to two nights and will be able to organise an activity at a local nursery.
How will I be assessed?
Two of the units are externally set and assessed and six are internally set and assessed by written assignment.
What can I do afterwards?
The course can be a progression route into Level 2 courses, including Childcare.
