During this six-day course you'll learn about all aspects of managing and caring for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
You'll look at:
components and elements of effective pulmonary rehabilitation programmes
designing exercise programmes for pulmonary disease patients
evaluating the efficacy of interventions in terms of disease progression or stasis
You'll also explore how self-management and self-efficacy may affect rehabilitation of patients with chronic respiratory disease.
You'll critically consider strategies to improve adherence with pulmonary rehabilitation and facilitate long-term behaviour change for such patients.
There's an emphasis on advanced and evidence-based practice, as well as a focus on the use of validated and sensitive outcome measures.
