Course programme

The training is made up of short videos that explain each point individually. The learner can answer short questions about each topic as they go, and ends with a multi-choice test. Training is completed in your own time. Learners may do part of the course, log out and then resume at a later date if required.

Section 1: Nature of Fire

This section is designed for employees to understand how fires can start, spread and fires’ behaviour. The delegate will gain an understanding on what situations and actions start and spread fires and what precautions to take to prevent them.

Section 2: Fire Signage

This section illustrates the different types of fire signage and what they mean. The delegate will be able to recognise warning signs and know how to react in the event of a fire.

Section 3: Fire Hazards

An interactive activity designed to help learners identify any fire hazards which could be present in their workplace and to help develop their knowledge on what to avoid and what to do if they find a fire hazard.

Section 4: Discovering a Fire

This section clearly defines what actions employees need to take in the event of a fire and the correct procedures to follow.

Section 5: Portable Fire Extinguishers

This section gives instructions on the common types of fire extinguishers and their labels and what type of fire they are safe to use on. The delegate will be able to identify what extinguisher to use and how to tackle a small sized fire safely.

Test:

This is a multiple choice test that demonstrates that the candidate has gained the knowledge and skills they need to fulfil that job role.
