Section 1: Background
This section covers the basic understand of how fires start, how they spread and recognising fire signage. The learner will gain essential knowledge on preventing fires and what hazards to avoid in their workplace.
Section 2: Fire Prevention
This section covers hazards in the workplace aimed to give the Fire Wardens a detailed knowledge of the importance of a safe working environment, the importance of fire drills and how to plan and conduct fire drills in their workplace.
Section 3: Fire Evacuation
This section explains how people react to fire related situations, what procedures should be followed in the event of a fire and how to conduct a safe evacuation.
Section 4: Fire First Aid
This section gives the designated fire warden the skills to use in the event of a fire to treat any injuries until emergency services arrive. Also gives details on fire extinguishers and the different classes of fire and how and when to tackle them safely.
Section 5: Legislation
Explains the legislation in a straightforward way to give the delegate the knowledge of what is required from them in the role of Fire Warden/Fire Marshal.
Test
This is a multiple choice test that demonstrates that the candidate has gained the knowledge and skills they need to set up their workstations and to work safely.
