Course Content
Qualification
This award is about the delivery of health and social care to individuals. This includes both direct care, where the focus is on practical and enablement care. You will develop skills in the maintenance of the Individual’s independence by supporting and enabling individuals to do things for themselves.
The award is structured so that a learner will achieve six units. For learners employed in a social care setting inspected by Commission for Social Care Inspection, learners must complete four core units and two optional units.
Core Units
- Communicate with and complete records for individuals
- Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals
- Develop your knowledge and practice
- Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals
Optional Units
- There are a range of optional units available depending upon work role and work setting.
- Qualification Delivery and Assessment
- Your assessor will observe you carrying out practical tasks during your normal working hours in order that you can meet the requirements of The National Occupational Standards.
Progression Opportunities
On completion of this programme you will be able to progress on to NVQ Health and Social Care Level 3 if your work role is suitable.
