About this course
The candidate must be working in a managerial capacity or have completed level 3 in Care. This will involve having responsibility for the staff team, monitoring budgets, the auditing process involving the implementation and evaluation of policies.

Description
This course is designed for candidates working in adult care services at management level. The units are related to the management of systems and structures in an organisational context.
Course Length
The programme runs over a period of 18 months part-time. Candidates will be expected to attend underpinning knowledge sessions of one three hour period a week and additional time of at least three hours to collect evidence from the workplace. Candidates will also attend jointly planned tutorial sessions.

HSC45 - Develop practices which promote choice, wellbeing and protecting all individuals.
Optional Units
HSC416 - Develop, implement and review careplans with individuals.
HSC414 - Assess Individual needs and preferences.
plus optional units which Student chooses depending on their area of work.
Although TOPSS offer a choice of units, Stephenson College deliver the above units taken from the recommended list.
How will I learn?
Programme delivery will include a variety of methods to reflect individual learning styles. This will include group work, peer discussions, presentations, question and answer sessions and written work.
How will I be assessed?
Candidates will submit a portfolio of evidence consisting of candidate explanations, witness testimonies, work based evidence, case studies, products and oral or written questions. Evidence from previous studies can be used as accredited prior learning (APL) for example A units, previously D32/D33.
Candidates will also be observed in the workplace by an individual trainer at agreed intervals. The minimum number of observations required for the award is three.
Written feedback will be provided on each observation and on completion of individual units
