What will I study?
Both the BTEC and GCE Level cover areas such as:
- Health, Safety and Security
- Equality, Diversity and Rights
- Development through the life stages
- Complementary therapies in health and social care
What will I achieve?
The BTEC Certificate in Health Studies is comparable to 2 A Levels.
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed through portfolio work. Students will be awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction for their work. You will spend one day a week on work placement in a variety of settings.
What else will I do?
Students get the opportunity to do voluntary work, visit hospitals, visit The Disabled Living Centre and Thackray Medical Museum and use the experience of visiting experts.
