About the course Who is the Apprenticeship for?
The training programme is intended for new or existing staff working in an Accounting environment. It is designed for roles such as trainee accounting technician and assistant accountant.
How is the training delivered?
The training delivery takes place at Farnborough College of Technology; there is a choice between day release and evening class. In addition, there is regular progress and monitoring support visits to the workplace.

The entry criteria are staff aged and over, with completion of an Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 3) in Accounting.

Subjects covered What does the Apprenticeship cover? The Level 4 programme is made up of two qualifications covering a range of accounting and business skills: Level 4 Diploma in Accounting (AAT): There are 4 mandatory units and 2 optional units must be completed to achieve the award. Units are assessed by AAT computer based exams. Mandatory Units Budgeting Financial Performance Financial Statements Internal Control & Accounting Systems Optional Units- choose 2 Business Tax Personal Tax External Auditing Cash Management Credit Control Level 4 Diploma in Business Skills (AAT): The 9 mandatory units are completed through Work Place Evidence (WPE) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in the form of a Portfolio. Mandatory Units Working in teams Planning and delivering business communication activities Evaluate and improve own performance in a business environment Spreadsheet software (Level 3)** Optional Units- choose 2 Presentation software (Level 3) Deliver a presentation (Level 3) Organising and facilitating meetings and workshops Managing project finances ** Students who have already achieved this unit as part of the Level 3 AAT will have their achievement recognised when they register for the Level 4 Diploma in Business Skills.
