Is this course for me?
This course is for those interested in acquiring knowledge and
developing skills within the broad context of the information
technology and telecommunications sector. It offers an exploration
of the real-world integration of technology in business, applying
learning across work-related tasks. The Diploma will enable you to
develop valuable transferable skills, as well as the skills and
capability to thrive in the e-economy.
What will I study?
There are three core themes running through the specification:
business, people and technology. Skills such as team-work, creative
thinking, self-management, project management, business
communications and reflective learning all also play a part.
Learning is brought to life through up-to-the-minute contexts such
as the internet, multimedia solutions and techonolgy in music and
sport. Plus trips, visits to companies and work experience.
What can I do next?
This can lead to progression opportunities as IT professionals,
business managers and entrepreneurs.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need a proven record of a high standard in English,
maths and ICT, with an excellent record of attendance, punctuality
and commitment from your school. You will also need to successfully
complete an initial assessment and interview.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
