Who is this course for?
For absolute beginners. The national language of India, official language of many Northern Indian states. Hindi is widely spoken in India as a link language and is regarded by many Hindu immigrants to the UK as their chief cultural heritage.

What will the course cover and what can I expect to do by the end of it?
Introduction to the basic aspects of the language and Hindi script. You will acquire basic grammar and vocabularyenabling you to greet people and introduce yourself, talk about your family, say what you do and where you live. Recognise letters of the alphabet.

What teaching and learning methods will be used on the course?
As far as possible, all teaching and learning takes place in Hindi. You will work in pairs/small groups to practice speaking and listening with worksheets and exercises to develop reading and writing. Homework is set every week and is a vital part of you learning.

How will we assess your progress on the course?
Your tutor will listen to your speaking in class and mark your written work, giving you regular feedback on your progress.Through own portfolio / by Tutor / by Internal Moderator

What type of qualification will passing this course give me?
Working Men's College for Women and Men will issue a certificate on completion of Beginners 1.

What extra study/practice do we expect you to do outside the class?
Regular homework is essential and revision of what has been done on the previous lesson is highly advisable.

What can I do after completing this course?
Beginners 2
