Optional Modules:

All students are required to take one of the following optional modules:
  • Themes & Approaches to the Historical Study of Religious Cultures
  • Themes & Approaches to the Historical Study of Consumption
  • Themes & Approaches to the Historical Study of Empire
  • Themes & Approaches to the Historical Study of Gender & Sexuality
Teaching:

All course-specific core modules and optional modules will be delivered by weekly two-hour seminars, and the MA methdological core module by a variety of lectures, seminars and workshops.

Assessment:

All modules apart from the dissertation will be assessed solely by the submission of a 6,000 word essay. A 15,000 word dissertation is required (20,000 for MA in History of Medicine students), The dissertation project will be undertaken under the supervision of one of the Department’s faculty members.
