Description

This course enables candidates to gain knowledge and practical skills of three areas of Complementary Therapies: Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Massage. By experiencing all three disciplines at HNC level the candidate can then make an informed choice to specialise in a particular therapy at HND level. Investigation and research skills are included with empathetic client care and therapeutic.

HNC Complementary Therapies

Course Aims:
This course enables candidates to gain knowledge and practical skills of three areas of Complementary Therapies: Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Massage. By experiencing all three disciplines at HNC level the candidate can then make an informed choice to specialise in a particular therapy at HND level. Investigation and research skills are included with empathetic client care and therapeutic interaction with others.

Progression Opportunities:
HND Complementary Therapies

Career Potential:
On completion of HNC it is advised to progress to HND to enable candidates to enhance their specialism to a higher national diploma standard. Employment opportunities at level 7 are to work to an HNC standard as a self employed complementary therapist, to work within a clinic spa environment. There may also be opportunities to work within the National Health Service.

Course Assessment:
Practical and theoretical assessments will take place throughout the course and will include a Graded unit to assess the candidates ability to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills gained and receive a grade for achievement.
