Course programme
This is a part-time, 2 year programme.
First year modules covered:
- Analytical methods for engineers
- Engineering science
- Electrical and electronic measurement and testing
- Electrical/electronic and digistal principles
Year two modules covered:
- Engineering project, implementation and evaluation
- Programmable logic controllers
- Instrumentation and control principles
- Combinational and sequential logic
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements for this course are normally one of the following:
- 80 points from Advanced GCE (A2, AS) including an AS Level pass in either mathematics, science, electronics or computing, or
- 80 points from vocational A level(s) in engineering, manufacturing or science, or
- Appropriate BTEC National Diploma or Certificate in Technology or Engineering, or
- BTEC Ordinary National Certificate or Diploma in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, equivalent or relevant GNVQs.
- If you have not obtained the required qualifications you can complete a one year bridging course before starting the HNC, or
- Other appropriate qualifications will be considered individually including those offered by students returning to education.
GCSE: five GCSE qualifications at grade C (including mathematics and English)
