HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Level 4

This is a part-time, 2 year programme.

First year modules covered:

• Analytical methods for engineers
• Engineering science
• Electrical and electronic measurement and testing
• Electrical/electronic and digistal principles

Year two modules covered:

• Engineering project, implementation and evaluation
• Programmable logic controllers
• Instrumentation and control principles
• Combinational and sequential logic

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for this course are normally one of the following:

• 80 points from Advanced GCE (A2, AS) including an AS Level pass in either mathematics, science, electronics or computing, or
• 80 points from vocational A level(s) in engineering, manufacturing or science, or
• Appropriate BTEC National Diploma or Certificate in Technology or Engineering, or
• BTEC Ordinary National Certificate or Diploma in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, equivalent or relevant GNVQs.
• If you have not obtained the required qualifications you can complete a one year bridging course before starting the HNC, or
• Other appropriate qualifications will be considered individually including those offered by students returning to education.

GCSE: five GCSE qualifications at grade C (including mathematics and English)
