Students of all ages and backgrounds study with us each year; whether you are a young person soon to leave school or an adult looking to retrain or enhance your job prospects by gaining new skills, then we have something for you.

A range of disciplines related to health, rehabilitation and fitness are studied. You will have an excellent stepping stone to careers in sport-related fields such as personal training and sports therapy. You could also convert to a full degree by further study.

The first year of the course provides a foundation in all aspects of Sports Science and the contexts in which they may be applied. First year modules include Anatomy and Physiology for Sport and Exercise, Nutrition, Instructing Activity and Health Promotion.

In the second year, learners are able to develop more specialised skills and understanding in sport and fitness. Rehabilitation-related units are introduced including Sport and Exercise Massage, Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention and Treatment in Sport and Exercise. Advanced Exercise Prescription, Applied Exercise Psychology and Sport and Exercise for Specific Groups allow learners to develop advanced skills to be able to work with diverse and challenging client groups in exercise settings. The final year also involves an extended research project.
