What's it all about?:
Any one working within an environment that uses hoists and slings will know how important it is to implement safe systemsof work and use the equipment in a correct manner. This course aims to develop your knowledge and skills when performing moving and handling techniques with the use of hoists and slings.
Progression:
The certificate awarded is valid for one year and provides an opportunity to gain increased knowledge and skills in hoist awareness to ensure best practices in the work place.
Entry Requirements:
You must hold an in date moving and handling certificate and be physically fit to undertake the practical assessment.
Duration: Three hours Course Overview
What does the course involve?:
Topics will include legislation relating to equipment, a basic risk assessment using ergonomic approach and health and saftey issues.
When can I study?:
Various half days - 9.00am to 12.30pm or 1.30pm to 4.30pm
Are there any exams?:
Continuous assessment of practical skils and a short quiz paper.
