About this course
• Assess Hollywood and its films in each of its phases
• Describe classical and post-classical Hollywood film styles and modes of production
• Assess the role/operations of the studios in each of Hollywood's phases
• Assess Hollywood cinema and the role of genre
• Identify key stars
• Identify and evaluate key Hollywood directors
• Identify key moments in Hollywood's history
• Evaluate a range of ways of thinking about Hollywood
• Evaluate Hollywood cinema within a critical framework.
You will require a pen and paper (or laptop/device) but the tutor will provide all other materials.
