Introduction:
The aim of this course is to enable therapists/health visitors/NNEB students to instruct their clients in infant massage techniques, both basic and advanced. In addition you will learn massage techniques to aid specific ailments e.g. colic. Students will be required to complete 2 case studies (approx. 6 hours work) under your tutors guidance hence the staggered dates. This course has been much sought after by midwives and health visitors, as well as new mums (not forgetting family members/carers).

Study Mode & Location:
This 2 day course is intensive and will require mother and babies to enable students to gain experience in the teaching of this module. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent` Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
You will learn the following:

• Health and safety (VR2/VR74)
• How to teach baby massage

Assessment:
Students will be required to complete 2 case studies (approx. 6 hours work) under your tutors guidance.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Careers and progression for this course could lead the student to work within the Health visitor area of a clinic/hospital. Students may find that they gain an interest in other massage courses available at Preston College i.e., Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology.

Additional Costs:
This course costs £210. You will also need the following equipment for the course (available to buy through the College):

• Uniform £20 (approx.)

How To Apply
You may need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser before enrolling on this course.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
