  • Course summary
    This is a flexible employment related degree that can be completed full-time over 2 years (one full day; morning, afternoon and evening, plus a second evening per week) or 4 years part-time (2 evenings per week). You will have the option to take a further year at university to achieve a BSc (Hons) Degree.
  • Modules and Key areas covered
    You will cover: Computer Systems (hardware, networking and data communications), Information Systems, Systems Analysis, Relational Databases, Programming, Emerging Technologies and Continuing Professional Development.
  • Who is suited to the course?
    You will want to gain a nationally recognised Higher Education qualification, already have a level 3 qualification or relevant experience and be in full or part-time employment.
  • How is the course assessed?
    Assessment is through a variety of methods, including the following: live projects/work-based project, written assignments and reports, timed assessments, group presentations, peer assessment/feedback and practical/employer assessment.
  • Work based learning?
    To meet the requirements of the course you will need to undertake live projects whilst on work placement or working in your current role.
  • What equipment or resources might I need?
    No specialist equipment is required although a USB pen drive and access to a PC at home would be an advantage.
  • Progression routes after course
    You may progress to a final year at university to gain the BSc (Hons) Degree in Computer Science.
