Introduction

Many professionals working in environmental management have successfully undertaken the two week IEMA certificate course to achieve associate membership of the Institute. However, relatively few have gone on to achieve full membership of the Institute: one of the main barriers has been that there have been no further professional training courses to support development of the necessary skills and knowledge base, or
for you to identify and fill the gaps in your understanding and knowledge in this everexpanding field.

This Diploma has been established to support delegates who require a higher level of qualification whilst at the same time providing the key knowledge and understanding for those wishing to progress their level of AIEMA membership to ‘Full’ status.

Woodland Grange have been working with the team at IEMA to develop an accredited programme that will establish your understanding and credentials so that you are ready to apply for full membership and also to foster many of the broader management skills that will lead to your personal and professional development.

This exciting programme will be delivered in three 1-week modules, with assessment of each based on assignments rather than exams, giving you the opportunity to combine work and study directly, so both you and your employer see direct benefits.

Programme outline
This 3 week programme develops the knowledge and skills covered at IEMA
Certificate level and addresses a wide range of environmental issues including technological options, effective strategies and change management.

It is broken down into 3 units:

  • Earths systems

Providing an understanding of how businesses interact with natural cycles,
resources and biodiversity and the impacts on their sustainability.

  • Risk management

  • Environmental media: measurements and controls
