Ilex Level 3 Certificate in Law & Practice

The ILex Level 3 Certificate in Law & Practice (2008) comprises of flexible introduction to a specific area of Law and Legal Practice. It also requires that students understand the kinds of professional legal skills neccesary to begin to research the Law and work with clients.

Entry RequirementsStudents should have a minimum of four GCSE's at grades C or above in academic subjects, including English Language and equivalent qualifications such as the C&G/Ilex Level 2 Certificate in Vocational Paralegal Studies.
Course Content
To achieve the ILex Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice 2008 students must achieve the following combination of five units:
·Unit 1 - Introduction to Law & Practice·Unit 16 - Client Care skills·Unit 17 - Legal Research skills·1 Law unit e.g. contract or family·1 Practice unit - linked to the Law unit.
How will I be assessed?
Unit 1 Introdcution to Law & Practice is assessed through a 1 hour multiple choice test.
The Law units and practice units are assessed by a 1 1/2 hour examination.
Units 16 & 17 are assessed by ILex written , college delivered materials marked by tutors and quality assured by ILex.
Candidates receive a Certificate from ILex once they have achieved the required combination of units.
What can I do next?
After the certificate the student can progress to the ILex Level 3 Diploma in Law & Practice.
The Diploma is Ilex's first stage of professional training. It is designed for students who want to progess to Level 6 Professional Higher qualifications and who ultimately want to become Legal Executives and hence, fellows of ILex.
