ILM Certificate in Dental Receptionist Skills

Course review:

This ILM endorsed course is aimed at people who currently work or are aspiring to work in a dental reception role.

During the course they will learn and develop skills encompassing the challenges of working legally professionally, confidentially and within the remit of current dental regulations

The course is tutor led over 5 days in a classroom environment and formative assessments are used at the end of each module

Summative assessment at the end of the course is gained from a reflective assignment which should be submitted for assessment by a deadline at which point certification will be gained.

Course aim

To provide the learner with skills, information and the knowledge to perform their role professionally and effectively in a dental practice

At the end of this course the learner will be able to:

• Understand customer service standards and requirements and apply it in the workplace
• Understand stress management and apply it in the workplace
• Understand quality management and apply in the workplace
• Understand the communication process and apply it in the workplace
• Understand negotiation and networking and apply it in the workplace
• Understand and apply the principles of conflict management to the work situation

Course structure

This course is delivered each month and is tutor led in a classroom environment at the training centre in Cardiff; (excluding December)
