Introduction
Managing a project successfully demands a wide range of skills and knowledge. This modular two-day course covers the management of both the people and the process aspects of a project.
Many projects run over on time, cost more than expected and fail to deliver on performance standards. A major factor in this situation is insufficient attention being given to the people management involved with a project.
This course uses a framework of activities to explore the key aspects of the people and process management involved with a project.

Course Content

Day 1Â Managing the People

• The Project Managers' role and responsibilities
• How to develop effective project teams
• Appropriate communication skills and methods

Day 2Â Â Managing the Process

• How to set up a project
• Project control systems
• Project tools and techniques
• Project review and evaluation

Day 3  Microsoft Project â€" Become a proficient user (optional day)

Suitability

Managers new to Project Management and more experienced people who wish to refresh their skills. Project Team members would also benefit from this training.

Assessment

A Development Award Certificate is issued by the Institute of Leadership and Management.
