This course is designed for practising or potential first line managers who are seeking professional accreditation.If you are a first line manager with little or no formal training, or are returning from a career gap, you can benefit particularly from this programme, which provides an ideal start to your future ongoing development.
Study Mode & Location:
This 26 part-time course lasts for 7 hours per week and will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.
Course Content:
This programme comprehensively covers the full range of responsibilities for the first line manager and can be tailored to fit your specific needs. The full certificate consists of an induction, ten 15 hour modules plus tutorial support. The modules are as follows:
C1 Managing Self
C2 Managing Skills & Competency
C3 Understanding Organisations
C4 Managing Change
C5 Managing Activities
C6 Managing Resources
C7 Developing People
C8 Managing People
C9 Communication
C10 Managing Information.
Assessment:
- Either five work-based assignments (approx 2 hours each) based on a pair of modules, or ten shorter work-based assignments (approx 1 hour each), one per module.
- Project (approx 2002-2200 words).
- Group Meeting with (and assessed by) the External Verifier.
- Summative Personal Development Record.
Careers & Progression Opportunities:
- ILM Level 4 Introductory Diploma in Management.
- ILM Level 4 Diploma in Management.
- ILM Level 3 or 4 S/NVQ in Management.
How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
