Content
The ILM Award in First Line Management is the ideal programme for practising or potential team leaders, supervisors and first line managers. This programme can be completed over a maximum of 1 year and provides participants with the knowledge, skills and personal confidence they need to improve their effectiveness in their management roles at work. Course Content The programme covers 1 compulsory unit of study covering Solving problems and making decisions. There are further option modules covering the full range of management skills. Topics covered include leadership, teambuilding, motivation, maintaining discipline, managing performance and coaching to name but a few. Course Delivery Most sessions are workshop or classroom based. Although these are tutor-led, participants take an active part by discussing the issues and sharing their knowledge and experience with others in a supportive atmosphere Assessment For the compulsory unit the participants undertake a work based assignments. For the option modules assessment can be made in a number of ways including work based assignments, reflective reviews, presentation, role plays or written reports. All participants can call upon tutorial support to help them with assignments and projects. Progression This is a Level 3 management programme, and offers the participant credits towards the ILM Certificate in First Line Management. Participants could also go on to study management courses of a higher level offered by Tresham.
