• How to deliver projects through the lifecycle stages of planniing, implementation, monitoring & closure • Project planning to strengthen success of project impact & return • Developing aims, SMART objectives & outcome focussed projects • Planning projects that meet organisational strategy • Project scope & stakeholder analysis • Project outcome & strategic focus • Project tools & techniques for managing time, tasks & resource including Gantt charts & Work Breakdown Structures • Project constraints • Project feasibility & viability • Introduction to risk management, including assessment, evaluation & mitigation • Introduction to return on investment, cost savings, financial viability & social return on investment • Monitoring & reporting on project progress & achievement of milestones & goals • Budget management & variance analysis reporting • Project evaluation & impact reporting • Managing change & organisational culture • Project management skills • CPD
How will I be taught?
This is an intensive 1/2 day course over 4 weeks every Thursday afternoon from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. There are 2 start dates, either from 26 January 2017 to 16 February 2017; or 27 April 2017 to 18 May 2017. There is a good mix of students from different industries, background and experience at various levels which provides a lively environment for learning and sharing best practice.
How will I be assessed?
An assignment of 2,500 words that will describe the project management processes used with some analysis and evaluation of why you have used those particular methods and procedures. The assignment is based on planning your own work-based project and how you are going to monitor and evaluate success
