About this course

By the end of this course you will have a greater understanding of:
Prince Albert’s life, interests/involvement in mid 19th arts, sciences and philanthropy
Prince Albert’s contribution to the Great Exhibition
Some of the controversies which surrounded Prince Albert in the 1840s and 1850s
The death, memorialisation and legacy of Prince Albert.

Prince Albert’s interests in the arts, sciences and technology. His involvement in philanthropy
The controversies which he generated, notably in terms of his political interventions and the debate over his status and title within the Royal Family
Legacy, including memorials.

The half day course is a mix of tutor presentation and discussion.
