Course programme

This course will provides the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills required for dental nurses and dental technicians to competently take impressions to the prescription of a dentist or clinical dental technichian. This is an ideal course for dental nurses and dental technicians who wish to gain additional skills in order to improve their scope of practice and at the same time receive verifiable CPD.

The course is divided into two parts with the first part being the theoretical aspects covering the knowledge of dental materials and techniques for taking adequate impressions, other important topics such as legal, health & safety, patient management just to mention a few will be covered while the second part will be practical session with demonstration and then delegates will practice taking alginate impressions under the tutor's supervision. Assessment will be carried out throughout the course and certificate of attendance will be awarded which attracts 6 hours of verifiable CPD on the day. Another 2 hours of verifiable CPD will be awarded following successful completion of portfolio.
