Training content

The training for the Incident Control Officers can be delivered over 1 day or at weekends or evenings. The training is aimed at management or persons in a position of authority and is designed to highlight what part individuals play before, during and after an incident unfolds.

Aim

To develop knowledge and skills in incident control and management

Part 1: Classroom based training and assessment (6.5hours)

• What is an incident?
• Major incidents
• Function of the emergency services
• Actions by the first person on scene
• Scene management
• Command & control

Part 2: Practical desktop exercise (1.5hours)

• Dealing with incidents in and around the workplace
• Delegation
• Command and Control
