Beauty therapy is a thriving industry, dedicated to helping people look and feel their best. It offers a great range of opportunities leading to an interesting and satisfying career.
Course Content
This is a nationally recognised qualification awarded through VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust). The massage techniques concentrate on lymphatic drainage and relaxation techniques. It is a comprehensive qualification which includes the study of anatomy and physiology of the neck, shoulders and face.
The course is run as a part time programme of study over 2 terms. The units include:
VR02 Health & safety
VR74 Support employment standards
VR69- Indian Head Massage
Entry Requirements
Students are selected by interview. Although there are no set qualification requirements, it is expected that students are enthusiastic and interested in the subject, possess a good standard of English with good communication skills and have a friendly, caring manner.
Duration
The course is run as a part time programme of study over 2 terms.
Assessment
After initial delivery of the units there is continual assessment of practical skills with oral questions and homework tasks these form the basis for a completed portfolio together with externally set end test papers.
Progression
The progression route would be onto other holistic therapy qualifications
