What will I study?
This course is intended to be of interest to a wide range of candidates and will build upon the knowledge, understanding and skills established through studying ICT in school. The course covers the use of ICT and its impact on society, plus a range of applications of ICT including software, hardware and networking.

Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
The course provides opportunities for students to gain a broad understanding of the skills, understanding and knowledge inherent in Information and Communication Technology. It encourages candidates to develop their critical thinking, to see the relationships between systems designer and user, and the role of Information and Communication Technology within the world in which we live.

How will I be assessed?
The scheme of assessment will consist of: a one and a half hour examination carrying 40% of the total marks, coursework carrying 60% of the total marks. Candidates will be assessed on accuracy in written communication in the coursework.

What can I do afterwards?
The course provides a suitable foundation for the study of Information and Communication Technology, or a related area of study, at AS or Advanced Level and/or preparation for future employment and the world of work.
