What will I study?
The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Information Technology (Specialist) is a new qualification equivalent to a single A Level. This course would be highly suitable as Specialist Learning for those studying the Advanced Diploma in IT, enabling you to specialise in computer based study. It is also a stand-alone qualification which can be combined with a range of A Levels or other Advanced Diploma courses.

Duration:
Two years

Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
You should have a real interest in the practical application of new technologies in a work environment.

How will I be assessed?
All units are internally assessed through a mixture of written and practical assignment work. Each unit is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction and the six grades are used to calculate the overall grade for the qualification.

What can I do afterwards?
This course is designed to provide students with a specialist qualification in information technology, enhancing their suitability for employment and providing them with practical skills for industry or Higher Education.

Are there any additional costs involved?
You will need to provide a USB memory device and a pair of headphones for use with a personal computer.
