Why choose the ILM Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading course?

The ILM offers two level 2 courses in team leading

  • the Award in Team Leading, which covers the basics of the subject matter and is an ideal bridge for those who have been away from a learning environment for some time
  • the Certificate in Team Leading, which is a longer and more in-depth programme suitable for those who would like to further develop their knowledge and skills

The ILM Certificate in Team Leading course covers

  • Developing Yourself as a Team Leader
  • Planning and Monitoring Work

plus a variety of optional units that build on this basic foundations.

What are my career prospects/next steps after the course?

Successful completion provides eligibility for Associate membership of the ILM.

The units that you achieve in the ILM Award and Certificate in Team Leading can be carried forward to the ILM’s Diploma programme.

How is the ILM Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading course delivered?

The course is a ‘fully taught’ programme that requires a minimum of 65 hours of attendance at facilitated and tutored workshops in Manchester, which are run on one afternoon and evening per week for 10-12 weeks.

How will I be assessed?

You will be expected to complete

  • a mini-project, covering the three mandatory units
  • a range of assessments comprising reflective reviews, knowledge reviews, oral presentations and role plays/scenarios covering the optional units

Guidance and coaching will given on the assessments.
