The course will provide you with the opportunity to design an interior. To begin with you will witness examples of interiors by practitioners with an international reputation and their impact upon interior design practices. This will inform your project work that will comprise of a real space and user requirements and be of an appropriate scope and scale. Your tutor will support you as you develop your design ideas and encourage you to experiment in visual material.

About this course

- Identify key features of designs from contemporary Interior Designers and Architects
- Draw in 2D to develop design ideas
- Analyse user requirements for a domestic scale design project
- Make a design proposal for an existing space
- Produce a design presentation for a small-scale project using 2D drawing and/or a 3D visualisation.

It would be preferable for you to purchase a 150mm long scale for your use- this can be purchased cheaply and your Tutor will advise you. A note pad, pen and pencils should also be bought to the teaching sessions.

- 2D drawing skills in plan and elevation plus simple 3D modelling

- Creation of Final Design proposals in the form of 2D drawing/ model making.

You will be taught using a range of techniques including workshops, short lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, tutorials, group and individual assistance and hand-outs.
