Students are encourage to develop their own creative brief, considering the function and use of the room, prepare a room survey and draw a basic plan. Furniture layouts and lighting plans can be developed as an option.

Furniture layouts and lighting plans can be developed as an option.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Have a basic appreciation of different themes and styles.
· Be able to develop their own creative brief.
· Have a knowledge of reference sources for their interest and taste.
· Be able to measure and produce a simple scale plan of a room.
· Understand principle colour schemes and how and where to incorporate them.
· Have an understanding of lighting effects in a room.
· Produce a sample or inspirational board, to help execute their ideas.
· Students need to source reference materials (paint charts, fabric samples etc) and at least one interior design magazine. They will need a 3m measuring tape.
Your Tutor
Jill Termote has a degree in multi-disciplinary design and had a career in glass design before returning to college to study City and Guilds Professional Interior Design.

Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
