Intermediate Apprenticeship - Hospitality: Food and Beverage Service

This course will suit a person who is passionate about learning new techniques and improving your skills in your chosen area.

This Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to learn how to prepare and serve a variety of drinks, including cocktails, wines and beers in a professional manner. You’ll also learn how to look after a bar, boost your customer service skills and develop front of house skills.

Topics covered include:

• Hygiene and food safety in catering
• Legislation in food and beverage service
• Menu knowledge and design
• Handling payments and maintaining the payment point
• Teamwork and customer service

The learning experience will be individual and fun, with on the job training with your supervisor and assessor or trainer. You will make use of facilities both at your workplace and in the College, including our excellent library and learning resource centre.

Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.

It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE.
