Who is this course for?

This is an exciting opportunity to gain a formal qualification in computing. This Apprenticeship is designed to develop both academic skills and the skills required for employment in the computer industry.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

For a Level 2 Apprenticeship you will need English and Maths at GCSE grade D or above. For a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship you will need a Level 2 qualification. For a level 4 Apprenticeship you will a level 3 qualification.

What will I study ?

This apprenticeship covers work in a broad range of digital technologies that help us use and share information, such as mobiles, computers, broadband provision, and satellite communications. The IT industry develops computer solutions that help businesses and individuals become more successful in their work. It's a fast-moving sector, so apprentices should have a keen interest in new technology. IT professionals serve customers in all types of business. They could be developing software or websites, helping companies set up new systems, or training people to use their IT facilities. IT apprentices will study software installation, communication skills and technical fault diagnosis, and gain an IT qualification from a recognised group.

How will I be assessed ?

Assessment will be through: Practical Coursework and Written assignments. Assessments are also carried out in your workplace. Our assessor will come and visit you at work every 6-8 weeks and assess you in your job role. Visits usually last around two hours

What qualifications could I achieve ?

You will gain nationally recognised qualifications in your chosen industry which demonstrate your practical competence and technical knowledge alongside skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT. Apprentices study at College and also in the workplace, bringing their knowledge into their job and learning from others in the company.
