Every organisation has to buy goods and services and this means that Supply Chain people work everywhere from global corporations to market stalls. For many organisations, their biggest cost is the goods and services bought from third parties. This includes all the costs of managing supply including purchasing, expediting, inventory management, delivery and receipt of goods and quality control. The Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Purchasing and Supply is a vocational programme designed for those working in or about to start working in a Supply Chain Office, to support the day to day ordering and delivery of materials and provision of services that has been agreed under the contracts with suppliers.
Apprenticeships are made up of framework of qualifications and training based on testing competency and developing practical, occupational and transferable skills.
PRACTICAL/COMPETENCY ELEMENT
Level 2 Certificate in Supply Chain Operations.
Mandatory Units:
• Health, safety and security at work
• Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operations
• Make an effective contribution to a business in the logistics sector
Choose from a range of optional units to enhance your learning experience and tailor the programme to your individual training needs.

This apprenticeship takes 17 months to complete and has a flexible start date.

Course programme
Suitable for those wishing to progress in a career in purchasing and supply: e.g. procurement officer. On completion you may be able to progress onto the Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship in Supply Chain Management
No specific requirements for this framework other than they have to be working in a supply chain role. Suitable job role(s): works in a Supply Chain Office, to support the day to day ordering and delivery of materials and provision of services that has been agreed under the contracts with suppliers.
