What is the Intermediate Web Page Creation using Dreamweaver course?
This course builds on the knowledge provided by attending either of our beginners courses which introduce students to web design and Dreamweaver . It allows students to make use of a limited range of -server side- facilities such as databases and allowing the development of more advanced websites with interactive content. Included in the course materials is a template website and database that can be tailored by the students to meet their own individual requirements.

Teaching and Learning
You will work through a series of structured exercises using a prepared set of resources to develop skills and knowledge. These will then be applied to a website of your own design.

During each lesson there will be a taught element with time available to apply techniques learned to develop your own website with the opportunity for one-to-one support.

Course notes and materials including a template website and database using open source software. These facilities are available on-line, allowing further development of your website outside the college.

The course is progressive, building from week to week, using basic skills and techniques in different ways to reinforce learning and develop new skills in a logical manner.

Web publication of websites created on this course will require that students obtain web space from an Internet service provider who provides the required server side facilities. Many students will have this as part of their normal ISP package. The course will demonstrate web publication through use of the college's Intranet services, which are not accessible via the World Wide Web.

There is no formal assessment with this course.

Notes

Extra costs : USB memory stick, (512 Mb or above recommended), writing materials, notebook, a copy of Dreamweaver Studio 8 web authoring package and web space supplied by an ISP.
