The International Foundation Year - Design Route fully prepares international students for entry onto a wide range of design-related undergraduate degree programmes.
It may suit you if you are an international student with the potential and motivation to succeed, but currently without the formal qualifications for entry to one of our undergraduate degree programmes.
Our International Foundation Year - Design Route guarantees all students who pass with the required grades, progression onto a range of design-related degree programmes at the University.

Course programme

This International Foundation Year - Design Route is a one-year course foundation year (level 0) programme taught at National Qualification Framework (NQF) level 3. The International Foundation Year - Design Route provides a firm grounding in the subjects required for the students intended undergraduate degree programmes. Those who successfully complete the International Foundation Year by achieving specific grades are admitted to level 1 of one of a wide range of design-related undergraduate degree programmes offered by the University of Leeds. Learning and teaching

You will be taught by University of Leeds academics typically within the departments which specialise in the module you are studying. You will study through a variety of formats including classroom and workshop style teaching sessions. This is all alongside a comprehensive Academic Skills module which will enable you to develop appropiate arts-related academic study skills so that you can succeed in your future degree. You will be assigned a tutor who you will meet with regularly. You will have access to the range of extensive libraries and learning resources we have on campus.
