Pathways
Level Entry 1 and Entry 2
Pathways is a 1 year course. This course will introduce you to college life, and give you the opportunity to develop your independence skills whilst continuing to develop your basic skills such as communication, literacy and numeracy.
Pathways 1 is aimed at helping you increase your independence in life skills such as catching buses, shopping and using community facilities. Pathways 2 will help you to identify your strengths so you can make decisions about which career route to follow, preparing you for progression onto vocational courses across college, or into supported employment.
You will be able to take additional quali�cations in numeracy and literacy and will also undertake a supported work placement. Both courses carry accreditation from City and Guilds.

Course Content
Pathways 1 Entry 1
You will take 5 units from a range including: Creative Studies, Keeping Fit and Healthy, Leisure Studies, Practical Project Work, Skills for Daily Life, Undertaking an Enterprise Activity, Using Community Facilities.

Pathways 2 Entry 2/3
Effective Skills for Learning and Work, Introduction to ICT, Personal Skills, Planning for Progression, Rights and Responsibilities in the Workplace

Additional options available: Catering, Horticulture

Course Length and Study Pattern
Pathways 1: 1 year, 4 days a week
Pathways 2:
1 year, 3 days a week [with possibility of work placement on 4th day]

Career Progression
Full-time Entry 2, Entry 3 or Level 1 vocational courses, with support if needed
Possible progression routes include: Basic Catering, Childcare, Construction, Horticulture, Small Animal Care

Work Experience
All learners will be offered the opportunity to complete a work experience placement. This may be within college, if the learner requires a high level of support, or out of college [with or without support]

Assessment
By completion of practical tasks in realisitc settings, and development of a portfolio of evidence
