Course programme

The International Master in Strategic Design for Innovation and Transformation (SDIT) is a one-year programme divided into four main blocks, concluding with a final Project Work. It offers advanced training with a blend of online and in-person activities, including company visits, a cultural design tour, professional lab visits, and two intensive Bootcamps led by leading design-driven companies. The programme structure allows for maximum flexibility, accommodating professional and personal schedules with online and in-person participation options. Weekly sessions include video clips and live sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 PM CET. The curriculum comprises four major blocks: - Innovation and Design: Focusing on strategic design, corporate entrepreneurship, and organisational transformation, this block includes real case projects with design-driven companies. - Leadership and Engagement: Covering leadership theories, decision-making, organisational behavior, and business process management, this block emphasizes fostering a culture of innovation and creative capacity in organisations. - Data and Creativity: This block explores the role of Big Data and 'weak' data in innovation, user research, and data-driven design. - Design Ops and Transformation: Addressing modern creative project management methodologies, this block delves into agile methodologies, design methods, and UX/UI project rules. The programme culminates in a Project Work in the second half, where students develop a consultancy project with POLIMI GSoM Faculty guidance, applying their learning to real-world company challenges. This project allows students to apply tools and methods learned, offering practical experience and networking opportunities.
